Seattle Ferry Boat Photoshoot with Shannon + Cameron

As I've been developing my style and narrowing it down, I wanted to experiment more with documentary/cinematic style photoshoots - and boy oh boy did this one deliver! It was such a dreamy photoshoot, and with the loveliest couple.

Shannon and Cameron are recently engaged, and just the nicest couple. They were totally onboard (pun intended!) with following my laid-back style of prompting as we took the ferry from Fauntleroy to Vashon Island, and it resulted in the most authentic shots where you can tell they are very much in love. Which is just so cute to see and document!

We took an early ferry that left the Fauntleroy terminal at 8:30am on a Saturday, which turned out to be the perfect time. The boat was mostly empty, and we were able to get photos in several different spots on the boat with no other people nearby. Which is an accomplishment! And it really helped Shannon and Cameron feel more comfortable, which meant that they felt comfortable enough to be themselves and really let their love show. I just can't get over how much these shots look like movie stills, and I love it!

We even went out on the deck for a few shots, even though it was freezing and windy (classic Seattle). The early morning really was amazing because the deck was totally empty! My approach with this photoshoot was to basically let this cute couple just hang out, talking to each other and interacting in a way that was natural and authentic for them, with little prompting from me. It worked out so great with these two! And I love all the truly candid shots it gave me.

We were having such a good time hanging out together, so when the ferry landed at Vashon Island we decided to keep taking photos! We walked down to the beach (right below the gift shop), and strolled along the water for a little bit. It really was one of those photoshoots where everything works out perfectly, the clients are amazing, and you're so excited to get home and immediately edit because you just can't wait to see the magic you just documented. More shoots like this, please!
